Same here. For the screen size of the Q10, the notification seems more obstructive than informative. But I can see advantages to having it definitely. But I wonder If when you have it on, will the toast force the screen on like iOS or windows phone? Or will it appear only when you have the screen on? I can understand the need to on the display to show a new notification on iOS and windows phone, since they don't have notification led. But not sure if entirely necessary on bb10.

The screen uses a lot of power, and if you have a lot of notifications and if turna the display on, wouldn't battery life be affected?
