I thought they were emailing all the people that signed up for news about the app. And then we would be getting some bonus. I wonder if it is the native app.
Edit: I'm in app world now and it's made by Zinio LLC so I'm assuming it's the native app from them. Just downloaded it and loaded it up, seems like its the real deal.
Is this Zinio application a native application for the Blackberry PlayBook or a repackaged Android application?
So far, there is nothing that says Playbook in the help section; if you scroll through it, there's references to Android. As for the app itself, it's running as a native app; the android window thing doesnt come up.

I think we will get an email in the morning. They probably just uploaded it, you can only find detailed it if you search it.
Seems limited so far. Doesn't recognize my magazines from my account for my IPad; and there isn't free samples other than one sports title. I too am curious about the $25 credit
I've never heard of Zinio, but the enthusiasm being expressed here makes me awfully curious -- especially since it's a free app.
So tell me: Where do you get the magazines you read in it? Are they paid subscriptions, or is there free content? What's the deal with the requirement to become a member? Should I be paranoid? (Too late.)
Happy that this app is here I was waiting for it. Just wondering if my library will ever show up on the playbook or is there something special I must do to get it on my playbook?

Its a "free" app but the mags are all paid for the most part. You can purchase the single editions or whole year subscriptions.
It does appear to be limited in their selection so far does seem to sync with prior purchases...hmm
Just a note of caution to everyone. Be careful if you are going to download "mature" content and I'm not talking porn here although that certainly would apply. If you try to download a title that is considered mature (serously, give me a break) you can't view it on the Playbook given the following rules:
Q: Why aren't adult titles available on my Android device?
A: Zinio must abide by the guidelines set forth by Google in order to have our app available in the Android Market. One of those guidelines currently prohibits content deemed mature. We are sorry that certain titles are not currently available on the Android. They are, however, viewable on Zinio.com or by installing the Zinio Reader on a conventional laptop or desktop.
After 10 minutes on the phone with Zinio, this was the answer that they provided. Dont get me started about what they said when I told them that it's not an Android tablet; it's a Playbook.
i looked through the store on the playbook and compared it on the website, and its missing a lot of publications. all the magazines that i have cited support for RIM on the website, but only 3 issues of a single magazine was in my playbook's zinio library. damn.
