Unfortunately, that was what I was afraid of when it comes to developer response to the Playbook ... waiting for the Android player instead of a native Playbook app. I have brought in the Android version to hold me over on my Playbook and I hope they reconsider.
I love YouVersion for my BlackBerry and I am a beta tester for Yifei with some others. I do say that it is one of the best applications on BlackBerry. Here's to hoping that they develop one specifically for Playbook.
That being said, if a beta tester is needed, I am willing to jump in on that.
Dear fellow Crackberry members,
I recently sent an email to youversion regarding a app for Playbook. This is what they said.

Hello there, and thank you so much for contacting us!
Our developers are already hard at work on getting the PlayBook app ready! We have made some big improvements over the past few weeks. We need to make a few more tweaks and then we will be pushing it live to everyone! Be sure to follow the developments online at YouVersion | Engaging the Bible Through Technology where we will announce this major update in the next few weeks, most likely.
If you have any more questions, please don’t hesitate to ask me!

I wonder if it will be a native app or a ported Android app. My guess is the latter. But with 2.0 due out so soon, I don't really see that as a problem.
So when the developers port Android Apps, are they the same as what we all do to sign and repackage APK's? So if this is indeed a ported Android Apps, it will run in the Android Player?
