I would much rather Amazon services as well.
However, since that's not available I have moved on to Kobo like mentioned above.
I'm using what is available NOE on my PlayBook. I have movies loaded onto my PlayBook and like the video store.

I bought into the whole Netflix hype a while back...now, I don't watch anything on there...mostly keep it around to keep kids occupied when friends come and visit. Between my home server with a ton of movies, Vuze - where I can download new releases from (p2p), and tablet tv...I'm pretty much covered. :)
I wouldn't pay anything for that app.
After learning of netflx supporting pipa I wouldn't load it if ya paid me. Figure to dump the idiots from my tv soon.
Buddy. Not even with someone's food stamps. It's a paid service, they provide the app we pay for service. No pb app no money from me..canceled and not looking back. Poor service poor support, poor customer service. They have developers and the code already written. If they wanted to they could port it, but They don't want to for whatever reasons they have. I don't want the service and I refuse to beg for it because I'm the consumer. To have a company dictate which device I must use to use their service is ludacris.

NO!
I would never get pushed over and pay $1 for something that's supposed to be free.
I would. I don;t even use NetFlix. But if having NetFlix on the PlayBook means less tech bloggers crying about the lack of apps then sign me up.
If their app is a paid one in other platforms then no.
i'd pay 20 for skype, one already pays for netflix subscription so paying for netflix is just day light robbery. Doesn't make sense for the consumer.
I would actually pay the dollar. People on Xbox360's have to pay their gold subscription (8.95) plus their netflix subscription to even watch it on that platform, even if they are using it for nothing else.
That's highway robbery.
I'd pay a buck.......if it included a subscription. I'd even go as high as $1 / month.
My last day of Netflix will be on the 24th of this month. I canceled because they said they had no plans for Playbook app. My kids are going to freek out on April 25th, but if Netflix wants my business back they'll support the Playbook and future BB10 devices. Unfortunately the cancellation process doesn't allow you to say in a comment why you are canceling, so I'll probably just send in a ticket explaining why.
I would, where do I send my money :)
i cancelled after price increase because was not paying when can only watch at home anyway. but if they made app for playbook i would consider coming back.

Now this is something I can sink my teeth into. I support Kobo, I support RIM through share ownership, I believe in buying local, which we do almost exclusively when it comes to fresh fruit and veggies, and up until about 3 years ago, we got all our dairy products delivered fresh to our door step (eggs, milk in real glass bottles, cream, butter, ice cream, etc) when the last Amish dairy farm went tits up after an over 75 year run, due to corporate mega-farms.
Anyway, I agree, I would never support Netflix either by way of a PB app, or even rent a movie from them for home viewing. At one time, we used to rent movies from local mom and pop stores, but they, like my beloved Yoder Farm, fell victim to corporate mega-conglomerates.
Oh my, I feel better now. ;)
chrisy520,
Have I mentioned that I love the way you think?
I cancelled Netflix as well.
Netflix supports sopa, I cancelled my acct w them.
No because netflix here in the uk is garbage, it only has stuff that i would not watch when it was new anyway.
From a philosophical point of view, I don't feel that I would feel great about paying even one penny for a Netflix app that is a free download on virtually any IOS and modern Android (lol) device.
From a realist's point of view, Netflix offers me a service to watch not-too-distant TV shows that I like to rewatch occasionally, like Caprica (ahem), Stargate Universe, Star Trek Enterprise, National Geographic Taboo, etc. For what I pay a month, Netflix offers me these streaming shows on demand where I'd pay an arm and a leg to rent/buy them from Amazon or iTunes movie store.
Since I still do believe I get good value out of Netflix (I know, I may be in the minority here....) I would be willing to pay $5-10 for the app on the Playbook. The Playbook is such a perfect tablet for watching streamed videos.....the speakers are incredible for such a small device, rivaling even my iPad 2 and Motorola Xyboard 10/1 (which cost me more than twice that of my PB).
Even if we all band together and pay $5 USD/CDN though, I don't think Netflix will ever come to the PB (and maybe even future OS10 devices). Why? Politics. We all know that if the "higher ups" wanted this app done, it would be fleshed out in a heartbeat. I do think that Netflix is jeopardizing its relations with Google and Apple by offering the app for RIM, who IMHO is seen more as a pariah these days in a world full of touchscreens, iFans, Fandroids, and "Cool and hip" over "classy and working."
