I'm going to start finding the worse Playbook Apps so far.

My first pick has to be one called Wedding Percent.

    Here's the Description:
"U wanna know that if how many percent that both of u will get wedding
    This app will help u.
U just input ur name and his/her name
The app will tell u how much u will get marry with him/her"

Seriously...who approved this app? Did the guy get a free playbook for this?

    To answer your two questions:
    1: Someone awesome.
    2: I hope so.

that sort of app really summarizes the PB app world for me: (most) apps look like high school projects. it's REALLY pathetic.

I don't want to start another "but on iPad..." discussion, but on iPad...

seriously, the appstore had so many cool apps done by professionals (and a lot of amateur-hour turds as well, admittedly). I go on the app world and I wanna cry, the selection is so dreadful.

I hope real developers embrace the platform pronto because I really like the pb hardware and OS. but without apps, it's just a really expensive browser and video player, that doesn't let you organize your bookmarks and puts aaaall your videos in the same directory..

iOS has been around 4 years now, giving developers plenty of time to work out kinks and develop all of those apps. The Playbook just released a little over two weeks ago running a brand new OS, so theres not gonna be a million fart apps to fondle with until developers have had some time with the OS. I don't even think RIM has released the native SDK yet.

I think RIM has been rather generous in awarding the free PlayBook offer to pretty much any app. I'm guessing the reason why is that it's better to give some to crappy apps than to get bad publicity through developers who got denied and then went on a bitchfest about it.

Getting apps out was definitely not very easy from a developer point of view. The SDKs were (and still are) kind of in their infancy with lots of kinks along the way. I strongly believe it's because of this that there's a fair amount of 'crapplications' out there. Especially in the WebWorks SDK a lot of crucial things don't even work yet (such as access to camera, accelerometer etc.). Even audio was only added very shortly before the hardware actually came out.

Anyway there's lots of reasons why a whole bunch of apps are the way they are. And personally I can't blame the developer of 'Wedding Percent' for trying, can you?

Trying to create an app? No.

Trying to tell people what the app does in words? Yes.

Hopefully when the fart apps do come they are of the highest quality.

You can't make fun of his/her grammar if you (repeatedly) say "worse" instead of "worst" - you just can't.

Texting but they charge you for it? Poorly presented in App World.
Really have no idea what the heck it does and what it costs.
    Useless

    3.Blue Screen Genie

    Useless

    4. Strobelight.Colorstrobe
Sorry, but the 70's were over a long time ago.
Sort of Useless (unless you do lots of drugs)

    5. VNC Desktop
They want $2.99 for a remote desktop client that
requires you to disable password protection on your PC.
Does not make use of the PB keyboard.
Sounds like a phishing attempt to get your IP and turn off your
password protection to gain access to you PC/Server
    Useless and dangerous.

    6. Firemen - SMS
Website is in German so you have no ideas what your getting into.
Could be useful, but unless you speak German it is useless.
Could work, but useless over all.

    7. e-mobile Air Share
Says right on it "This application is not compatible with Playbook yet"
How the heck did this get into PB App World?!?!?!?
    Very useless

    8. e-Mobile Today

    Useless

    9. Fun Web Cam
    Very badly written setup interface.
    Mostly useless

Seems more and more are being put on PB APP world every day.

    Where's the good stuff?
