    Interesting article just at the time when RIM is ramping up the App game.

    Funny that the Playbook was always touted as not needing the apps because of
    Flash. Maybe they were just ahead of the curve on that one.

    I imagine that it depends on the use and need of people. I can understand a Newspaper or magazine not needing an app. The info/data stuff you need is on the web.

    But what if I want local control and the data is on my device and I don't even want my data floating in the cloud for even a few minutes. I want my photo editing on MY computer. I want my taxes on MY computer. I want to type my resume on MY computer. I want to use my tablet/laptop in Chaco Canyon where there might not be a web available. Just like I want my maps on MY device so I can find Chaco Canyon or Navaho National Monument. And frankly, I don't want anybody installing a huge, tall, looming antenna in some of those places so that I can get my data. Of course, one could argue that I don't need a tablet in those ethereal places either.
