ubersocial would be nice to have but i kindly give the playbook time to develop..it is just a new born
Soon... very soon... but, don't hold your breath for an "Official" Twitter app..
Twitpic - Share photos and videos on Twitter
we will be guaranteed to have a twitter app when the android app player rolls out this summer. but as far as a native twitter app from RIM, my guess would be "this summer" considering that is RIM favorite phrase.
By ”Official", do you mean Twitter app from Twitter or from RIM's in house development team?
he means that its coming from a 3rd party.
Blaq
even if a twitter app is released it likely wont have notifications as i believe the facebook app doesn't.
What's the point if you can already view the full twitter site via the browser? I prefer the browser over the Twitter app on my BB...I only use the BB's app when I don't have the PB fired up or in my hands.
Tweetdeck for desktop is made using Adobe Air...
I'm not that good at programming but since Playbook supports Adobe Air natively, shouldn't it be a cinch to import it to the Playbook ?
I personally dont even use the website when Im on my desktop. I use tweetdeck, so cuz it shows all my feeds; Twitter, Facebook, Foursquare, etc etc....all in one client.
Tweedless is available in the appstore again although it doesn't let us view our groups. Really, I think the website is still better than Tweedless but I am sure it will get better as time moves forward.
Nope, just in app notifications meaning -- you need to launch it in order to see them. Notifications won't come until NDK is readily available.
There was a .bar file floating around made from the .air Tweetdeck but it didn't allow for authorization of your Twitter account.. technically, if Tweetdeck wanted to do it, they could easily -- they'd just need to find that bug and fix it but it would be less then ideal so I suppose that is why they haven't.
Twitter... doesn't make apps, they just buy em.. and brand em. RIM built Twitter for BlackBerry so assumingly, RIM would also build Twitter for PlayBook.
Problem is, is that Twitter really has no clue what they want to do any more. In the past little while they've turned against developers and third-party app developers basically telling them they don't want them making Twitter apps.
As such, Twitter has been less then forthcoming in the past little while with helping anyone create Twitter applications, even RIM. Which causes a problem because without help from Twitter -- applications are harder to develop since Twitter isn't wanting to share any of their new API. That's not to say new Twitter apps can't be made, they can.. clearly. Just that Twitter is making developers work harder for the access they need.
i would want just something that would work with my phone. you know we get bbm and message notifications, i would want a twitter notification. have it work with the bridge, but that would mean rim would have to do it since they aren't making the bridging ability usable by developers yet. but atleast i can use my bridgebrowser well if its something i want to visit the website of.
