try to find an New York Times app version that is specially made for Android 2.3.3 (gingerbread). that one will work then ! if not it has to deal with the C++ Android runtime emulator libraries
Android player loads much faster after the update and I have yet to experience any freezes. I only have apps from App World installed and I am quite pleased with the improvements.
I aint noticed any that dont work; it may be a placebo, but I feel like the GPS is better, only I'm not sure that the playbook GPS gubbins/software is picking the strong satellites. (Look at GPS Test android application (Sideload) and you'll see what I mean - only the 6 or 7 on the left get used, even though they may have no signal)
The Netflix app Stopped working. I delete it and sideload it again the did
a reboot and still no go. Other apps seem to function properly
Android player does open up faster which is a good thing.
An Android app I made and ported myself (see signature), which was extremely simple, used to load slow and crash half the time, so far now it and any other android app pops up and runs quite well. I'm definitely impressed with the Android Player improvement.
Battery Watch stopped opening up i contacted the developer and they said they could not do anything and that i should contact Rim. I told them why can;t they update the software and they said it was hardware problem? Ireally doubt that oviously they do not want to make a revised version to adapt to the software. It is a android app supplied thru the App world..
