when will we see overdrive come to the playbook?
Sideloaders have created a version that will run in OS2. It's not completely legit because the author was probably not involved in the conversion process. But it works on OB and it works well.
I recommend that you contact the author and tell them their Android product works perfectly on the PlayBook. All they have to do is package it as a .bar file using the RIM Android tools. Then they have to sign it using RIM digital keys and submit it to App World. This will take them approximately 10 minutes of their time. I sure that grateful PB users would even be happy to pay a buck or two for this fine product.
This is the reason that RIM created the Android player and I really hope that developers take full advantage of this great feature.
What is the overdrive app?
e-Reader software that is used by many public libraries to distribute digital books.

Cool - but I can't find Overdrive in Appworld on my Playbook (I', using 2.0). How/where did you find it?
I see the the overdrive icon! i'm getting excited! lol
Downloaded Overdrive today and gave it a test drive (running OS 2.0). Works very well, and seems to be customized to work with the Playbook very nicely. Looking forward to reading books from my local library!
:)
It's officially in BB app world as of today.
Should be noted it's OS 2.0 only as it's using the Android Player.
This is something that I am hoping the crackberry comunity could help with once 2.0 goes live. We see an app missing in app world that we've converted and it is shown to work, to inform the app developer of the fact and process for it. We want the apps in app world, rather than sideload as much as possible!
Very cool to see.
