    So I just purchased a Playbook yesterday and I have been trying to login to the Facebook app without any success. I enter my exact email and password and it just says unable to login make sure username and password are correct yada yada yada. I can go to the browser and login just fine, but the app just won't allow me to enter. Any else experience this? Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

    I think everyone seems to be having this problem so far with the FB app, don't beat yourself up there is a bug in it that hopefully will have fixed soon.

    Well, for menits only after reinstalling the app and trying to register it with my account. Normal logins seemed to be working, but now it won't let me set it up with my account after a fresh install.

    Possible solution:

    When I log in to facebook from a new device, it sends me an SMS with an alterative password to verify it's me.

    When I do that with the PlayBook the SMS is garbled.

    Switching off that option (Account Settings > Security > Login Approvals) on the Facebook site lets me log in to Facebook from the PlayBook.

    Yes, but only once:

    1. Log in to Facebook in a browser
    2. Go to Account Settings > Security > Login Approvals
    3. Uncheck the checkbox & click Save
    4. Log in with the PlayBook Facebook app
    5. Grant access
    6. Go back to the setting in Facebook on your browser
    7. Check the Login Approvals checkbox again, click Save


    Once Facebook knows about your Playbooks Facebook app you can log in directly.

    I tried that and it did not work
    I have singed on from a web page on the playbook and facebook see the playbook as a log in. but the stand alone facebook app does not sign on

    Didn't work for me either. The security settings on the Facebook page already allowed login from unrecognised devices, and I could not change the setting without an error message. Thanks for the suggestion.

    Same facebook problem. This was my first experience with the Playbook, really appalling. Even worse, the next thing I tried to do, was purchase an App. My credit card would not be accepted, and there is nothing wrong with the card. Emailed the App developer, they told me RIM has been having problems taking payments for Apps...SINCE APRIL. No wonder no one wants to write apps for the Playbook, you can't even sell them to willing customers!

    I tried entering my Facebook user name instead of my email address and now the Facebook app logs in properly.
    This was never a problem until I updated my Playbook to the latest beta last night.

    i got my face book to work this morning. by not using the @ sysmbol from the sysmbol screen. dont know why it did that but i remembered when i was trying to sing on to twitter i had trouble.

    WORK AROUND

    Use the @ symbol from the symbol screen! Don't use the @ symbol on the regular keyboard. Make sure you click the (123 Symbol) button then click the @ for your email address..
