    I found a way to view tiff files

    Install TIFF2PDF (a free android app available through AppWorld)

    The app will search for any Tiff file you have in your Playbook.
    Open a Tiff file and chose Adobe Acrobat (native app) in the list.

    The Tiff file will then be saved as a PDF and opened in Acrobat, namely xyz.tif.pdf. This new file is automatically saved in your documents.

    The original Tiff file is not replaced.

    If you have a lot of Tif files, it sure is a slow process though.

    Why not convert the files into pdf on your PC and then wirelessly transfer them to PB?

    Yep, why not use some tiff image viewer to view tiff file directly? It seems that the tiff to pdf conversion is unnecessary.
