just wondering, because I've seen a lot of older threads about this before the release of OS 2.0.
so is there an app or method available now to install .BAR files directly to the playbook without a computer?

Once upon a time there was a playbook app you could sideload called localbar. It allowed you to sideload from the playbook itself. Worked in 1.07 and in rooted playbook. Not sure about now.
