Record Music on PlayBook
Hi I'm looking to do some live music recording on the fly tomorrow and I tried the Native VoiceNotes app tonight as a test.
It performs okay, the air isn't as clean as I would like but I was able to go about 4-6 feet away and still could hear myself okay.
Are there any apps available that are more specific to live music recording.
FYI: from the voice notes app, files are saved as mp4, not bad.

You might want to check out Smule music apps, they could have something.

anote is a good idea, but not ready. you cannot find any recordings or notes that you saved.
i also saw lecture notes...but you have to pay for it and the review is very bad.

Not Bad At All
I used my playbook to record an "A Player" jazz blues jam yesterday and it worked very well. I set it down on a table for the first hour and the leaned it up against a flower pot (a little closer to the bass player) for the rest of the day. I recorded over two hours of music using voice notes.
Pros: Great automatic gain control. Great mikes...they overloaded on only the loudest tune. Fidelity is very good. it sounded way better than the Zoom...way better.
Cons: The bass response seems to be a little rolled off. Not sure if it's the mike or speaker response yet as i haven't hooked the PB up to my ProTools system at home yet...I'll keep you posted.
