Swipe from top bezel to get the main options menu. Scroll to general tab and select showcase for the application behavior.
you'll need to change your Application Behavior. Go to options->general, on there change app behavior to "showcase" instead of demo. Once done, now any open apps will continue to do whatever their doing even if they are not the currently viewed app.
