It doesn't play automatically or show transitions and animations either, however one way to get around it is to have a google docs account and upload the presentation there, then play it in google docs and it'll all work as intended :)
another option is to download olive office premium (a free google play store apk) sign it with blackberry graphical aid tool and install via your favorite installer (ddpb,bbh tool etc)
i have it on my playbook with os (2.1.1032 i think) and you can create and read native powerpoints, office docs and excel sheets.
you tried office suit sideloaded?
