Is there a way that I can use PlayIrc through my bridged Bold 9900 in situations where there is no wireless available?

I prefer PlayIrc over the other irc chat apps. However, it fails me on the lack of an ability to work over the BB Bridge when there is no wireless available.
Are there any other Irc apps that will work over the bridge?
