I Have a question about the BlackBerry Playbook 1GB RAM, in the smartphones the "256 RAM" or "512 RAM" is for OS and Install apps, sd card for multimedia.

On the Playbook, how this works?, is the "1GB of RAM" to install apps and the "16 GB" or "32 GB" for multimedia?

I surfed the web and none of the reviews mentioned this (Which I think is a very important point)

Can someone clarify. Thanks in advance.

The apps are stored on the 16, 32 or 64 gb not the 1 gb of ram.

RAM is used for storing data for apps that are currently running. the apps, the multimedia and everything else is stored on the 16GB NAND memory on the device. on the 9700 there is 256 MB of flash memory and 256 MB of RAM, two very different types of memory. you can store data, multimedia and apps on the flash memory, however you cannot store apps on the sd card.

RAM is cleared when the device is powered off, but flash memory is not power sensitive. hope this clears it up.
