Cool, have grabbed Pew Pew, looks pretty nice.
I'll avoid avoidal... ;) doesn't look quite so pretty.
just played it, runs beautifully, looks great and its fun! saw it show up on the new section of appworld
Looks good.
But I must admit when I read the title I though it was about laser cats.
My curiosity killed me and thus, clicked.
I thought wtf wtf is pew pew. Now I know.
i should write a review on appworld. so far 4.5 out of 5, it definitely has the qualit of a 5 dollar app. download it people!
never heard of it, got and its fun!
This is a beautiful game, look stunning and nicely polished, I would happily have paid for it.
Hi guys, I am PewPew's developer. Thanks for all the awesome reviews! If you have any questions, feel free to ask.
There are 3 things I wanted to let you know:
- Yes the game is hard, but with a little bit of practice you'll get all the gold medals :)
- You can watch replays of the games by pressing the "play" button at the left of the scores. It works for online scores too! It's a little gimmick I know, but still pretty fun.
- PewPew 2 is in the pipeline ;) Planned to be sold at 2.99$, and without a doubt worth it if you like PewPew 1.
This game is fantastic! I will definitely spread the good word. I will definitely be purchasing number 2
wow, love the menu on this, i like how it rolls over feels like it adds depth, the graphics vector style are just beautiful, very fun!
nice work !
Ya just gave ir 5* love this game.
Im addicted to this game!
@jyalf thanks for bring this game to the Playbook. I'll be sure to download Pew Pew2 as soon is its release like i did for the Android version.
Thanks for porting this game over! I've had it in my phone for over 1.5 years. I can't say that about very many apps.
I'd like to ask you for interest, how hard was it to port your Android/iOS native code to QNX? Was it much work? Any issues with the submission process to Appworld?
The word hard is an understatement. Nevertheless, I really like it and can't believe that it's actually free. Too cool. :D Good job and lkg forward to PewPew2.
Nice, not bad for FREE :D
PewPew was basically designed to be ported easily, so I had a barebone version running on the emulator in 2 days (no sound effects, no music, no multitouch, no preferences, no online scores... basically just openGL ES).
After that I waited for my PlayBook to arrive, and the rest took between 1 and 2 weeks, excluding the submission process. The devil is really in the details.
Regarding the submission process, I wasted a lot of time trying to package the app with the command line. I never managed to do so, partly because their documentation is all over the place.
Allways nice to see devs on the forum!
Really like this game, so downloaded it on my android phone and playbook. I have noticed from playing on both that the android seems to be easier to control, might be down to size of the device, friction between finger and screen etc but I wondered if this is something that can be improved on? Android device is (HTC desire hd) The responsiveness seems to be greater, seems like a very tiny but noticeable amount of lag between where my finger is to the direction I am moving/shooting on the playbook
I have had the touch input lock up on me twice so far, both times while playing a game, the game will continue and it will act as though I had never let go, ship will fly in same direction and continue shooting etc but I can't do anything other then to close the game. i'm on the beta OS 2.0.0.6149
Really nice game though, great visuals and very addictive! Would love to see a nuke weapon in pewpew 2 with similar effects to the map and sound as the nukes in geometry wars if that is possible! 2.99 sounds like a bargain price!
I actually find the responsiveness of the playbook to be greater than on my android devices :D
Depends on the hardware I guess, not much I can do to improve in this area.
Yeah I heard that the touch screen sometimes stop responding... I need to find out how to reliably reproduce that problem, but I have an idea of where that could be coming from.
I haven't noticed any problems at all with the touchscreen in this game, it plays flawlessly. Love it!
plays great for me to maybe its the fact that the last poster was on the beta version..
Great game! Love when I get the "yeah!" blocks and everything on the screen goes crazy!
Also, nice job with the music. Really fits well.
I really like this game. It is very fun and a great throw back arcade game.
Great job porting it over! Very addictive, I have very sore thumbs from playin this game excessively trying to get my name on top of the scoreboards!
Looking forward to pewpew2 and will be more than happy to buy it!
Keep up the good work!
Got it yesterday great game plus its free cant go wrong with that everyone :)
