I was just wondering if it would work at all. LOL I didn't even think of just going to the website. Has in been confirmed that the website works on the playbook?
I loaded the Pandora app on my pc. I wasn't sure why I was doing so, nor have I figured out any benefit to having it. To me, it just seems like one extra thing I need to launch when I want to use it. In truth, I guess it does allow me to open it with one click instead of the two it would take to open a browser tab and click the site. But since I always forget its there I need extra clicks to minimize and restore my browser while I launch it
I know its simply personal preference. I'm sure an app will come around, but in the meantime you still can run it.
I assume you are talking about an app, right? Why would you want to load an app when you can simply bookmart the website?
I'll give you one good reason: Because on the current Playbook browser implementation, you can't load up another tab, or launch another Playbook app, without causing the streaming to pause, even when the apps are configured in "Showcase" mode (i.e. keep running in the background).
Also, the Playbook has a hard-coded, can't disable default of 5 minutes before standby, even when powered on and plugged in. You stream for 5 minutes, then the Playbook shuts down, and you have to power it on again, put in the unlock code, and then streaming resumes.
A few major flaws in their current implementation, but it is customer-facing, beta hardware and software.

nobody answered this question, being "will there be a pandora app?". i think we all understand the website will load. does anybody know an answer to the question instead of their own solution?
ive just emailed pandora with questions about this so lets see if i get a response. ill be sure to share if i get a reply.

You can open new apps, you just have to change the PB app settings to Showcase instead of Default. With default fullscreen apps cause other background apps to pause.
Pandora was quick to get back to me. (unfortunately) here are my findings:
Hi [my name],
Thanks for writing. We are not currently developing an application for the Playbook, but we hear from some listeners that it works using the native web browser. If you'd like, give it a shot and let us know how it goes! Sorry for any inconvenience -- enjoy the music!
a lot of services work fine from the browser but a well developed, intuitive app for certain things like Pandora, Slacker, Twitter, Facebook etc.... is far better & more convenient than any web browser, just my opinion
I sent them an email and hit them up on twitter too. Their freaking web client is flash, how hard would it be to make a stand alone flash client.... *******.
