Installed from app world and ended up with two icons, but both ran the new version (the sideloaded one was 2.3 and app world 2.4) The new one kept my library card info, then I deleted the old icon and it lost my library so I added my library again and my card info was still saved.

just installed it too. Android app. but it does work properly though. dug out my username for my library and already loaned a couple of books. A little laggy though and the graphics shows the app is obviously made for a lower resolution device. But at least when reading the texts are still clear.

Frankly, its better than nothing at all.

I would like to know what this overdrive media console does as well. Is it a book reader or a media player?

That but I think I can answer it is an app which enables you to read library e books, so as long as you are a member of a library you can have access to their ebooks

Overdrive is the method that allows you to borrow for a specific time period electronic books (ebooks) from your local library. Most are encrypted (drm) so that what overdrive does it decode them so that they can be read on specific types of devices. You actually wind up with a "ticket or coupon" which then gets redeemed for the book and once redeemed, the book comes to your device ready to read (decoded).

Can't you sideload your own books to Overdrive to read? You can on other platforms. This gives the PB another free epub reader, and a good one. I'm not on 2.0 so I can't look at it myself yet.
