    Hey guys,
    I found these two apps.
    Google Talk: https://www.dropbox.com/s/4igtjot0af...ogleTalk10.bar
    Yahoo Messenger: https://www.dropbox.com/s/ewiuwj6qbr...essenger10.bar

Technically they should work on Playbook and Dev Alpha.
However, side-load complains that the device isn't 'Blackberry 10'.

    Anyone able to correct this?

These are official apps by Research in Motion. They integrated in to the accounts settings and run a background service to check for messages.

BBM was giving me the same error so I tried changing the meta file to accept OS2.1 but it ended up messing the file altogether.

Any ideas on how to proceed?

With BBM, it's a sys BAR, so it needs to be signed by RIM or it won't work. But I assume these apps should in theory work with any signature, so I guess it may just be a case of editing the manifest and resigning? Although, I assume if it were that simple xsacha would have done it...

Well, yes. But I believe that has been done before, I seem to recall xsacha posting some of the Cascades samples fixed for use PB, so that part shouldn't pose too much of an issue.

It could be that simple. I just didn't try it because I'm lazy/busy :P
Was thinking that would be the first thing someone else would try anyway.

You can see by the resolution of the images that it should support all devices (including Playbook).

Just installed Google Talk from App World, after hearing about it through n4bb.com. Works fine on the Dev Alpha...

In fact, it must use Push or hook into some PIM-related service, since I had exited the app, my wife sent me a message some time later, and the LED started flashing. Also a "splat" appeared on the app icon. Restarted it and the message was there.

Simple repackage doesn't work on PlayBook. It's missing some background services libs/binaries. xsacha, it seems that you've cracked the magic ID of any bar file right ?
