Updated the OP with screenshots from the Playbook version (they've been sharpened because of the size reduction).
Note: the coloured gem "buttons" will not be working ingame until the World 4 levels are finished (and the existing ones are updated to work with them).
Hi everyone, Version 1.0.330 went live last night. Changes:
1. New level (3-6)
2. New alternative camera control option - "edge", touch the edges (left and right to rotate, top and bottom to zoom).
3. Performance improvements in most levels. you should be getting 30-35 FPS now.
4. Tweaked some of the models so the UVs are better.
EDIT: It's also on the front page of http://www.indiedb.com/ at the moment, if you have some spare time to pop over there and rate it, please feel free to do so.
Thanks for your support and for playing!

Reason: indieDB front page news
This app was on my todo list, have just purchased it, great stuff! love the music and can see that it is highly addictive *help* lol have a family to feed though, so will play later, will give the devs a rave review on Appworld which it deserves, for anyone reading, this is one of the better apps/games for our PlayBook, buy it to support the devs, we need more of this stuff
Many thanks to everyone who posted reviews on the Chromasphere product page.
Ok. I just submitted v1.0.350 to Blackberry for approval. It only features one new level as I have been working on new pieces in the background and over the last few weeks the Android version has fallen behind. I've been meaning to get all versions up to the same point in development so I could submit them all at the same time. This is almost done so hopefully, now it will speed up the time between future updates.
So anyway, a couple of teaser shots of the new level:
At the moment, it may suffer a little lag in some places which I hope to iron out in future updates I just had to get some news out for Easter!
v1.0.350 is now live. However, I noticed today that the two newest levels have their medal times listed in the wrong order. I've fixed this with 1.0.351 which I hope will be available later this week.
Sorry if this has bugged anyone! :/
PS: Does anyone who how to remove saved game information off the Playbook?
Sweet! I love this style of game...at least from appearances of the screenshots. Thanks for your loyalty to us PB owners. We need more and more excellent games and apps.
EDIT - As a user input on the game, I would suggest giving the ball more weight or allowing the weight to be adjusted. The ball seems to move around too freely. Otherwise this is an excellent game. But as an example of what I mean about the weight and freedom of the ball's movement, check out Seven Stars on Android. It's less hectic for controlling the movement of the ball.
Hi Marty_LK, thanks for taking the time to offer some opinions on the game. I've considered several options:
The one I most favor is to add a "fine" control over the speed but keep the medal times roughly as is (possibly slightly easier or based on the easiest, middle and fastest settings) so that as a player gains more experience they can increase the speed to the point where they can more easily get all the golds.
It will be relatively easy to implement compared to others I considered, much quicker for everyone waiting for the change and offer the most flexibility to the player, without reducing the challenge too much. It's also pretty close to what you suggested.
I'm on holiday for 2 weeks from next week so I could submit this minor change over the weekend (not 100% guaranteed = family!) or include it as part of a larger update after I get back.
Good looking game with nice music. Runs very smooth on my Evo 3D. Is there any way to change the calibration on it at all? When starting out with the phone flat it is kind of annoying to have to lean over to see my screen well when trying to roll forward. Maybe have the starting point be around a 30-45 degree angle so that when you are rolling forward the screen is actually flat instead of tilting away. That's the only issue I have run into. Very nicely done.
Hi JaredPress, thanks. I will be raising the price on completion of the beta phase. Basically, I think early adopters should be rewarded not punished so that's why its cheap at the moment!
Update 1.0.361 is now available on Playbook!
This adds a new slider in the options screen that sets the chromasphere rolling speed. Set it as "casual" if you are just starting out and move it over towards "pro" as you get more confident (pro is what the game used to be set to permanently). You cannot get gold medals on the "casual" setting. I will be changing the medal times soon to make bronze possible on "casual".
Great looking game and one I want to love. Would it be possible to add a toggle in the options so swiping left/right moves the camera the other way? I mean, I swipe right now but the camera goes the wrong way. Hmmm.
Press and hold is better than swipe definitely, but I'd love to be able to press the right hand side and see the camera rotate clockwise around the ball, and a left press make it rotate counter-clockwise. It's really hard for me to play atm
Hi, I'll look at adding an inverted camera control option.
Atm, I'm actually working on an "autocam" option which will be on by default in future releases (although you can switch it off if you want).
It removes the need to move the camera manually almost completely. Apart from some areas where you have to go back the way you came which you can just invert the view in the opposite direction by tapping the screen or swiping).
