- I am new to the PB world. So I'm not sure if the native email constantly running in the background. It certainly looks like it is down loading junk mail all the time. I had it in sleep mode and all the apps closed and it still downloaded a bunch of junk mail. Is there a way to turn it off, or I just have to turn off the with-first! Also is there a filter for junk, or you have to check the box as it comes in?

Gabe03-04-12 05:17 PMLike 0 - Your junk mail should be filtered by your email provider. If your email provider isn't doing such a good job I'd try another one, like Gmail.
For the background issue. Open Accounts and select your email account. Tap Advanced Settings. You will see a Sync Interval option (you may have to switch Push to off first). If it's set to Manual it will only load when you open the email client. This will however mean you stop getting notifications of new email. Any setting other than Push has also been reported to have an adverse impact on battery life, but this varies from person to person and depends on how much email you get.
You can also go to Sounds & Notifications and adjust how you're notified. If you turn off the LED (Glow only) and set the volume to 0% it'll only let you know about new email while you're already using your PB.03-04-12 05:50 PMLike 0
