Hi can anyone tell me if there are any music tools/alps for the PB?
I'm after things like metronomes, music notation tools ect- ?

Or even audio recording suites, the type of thing you can record an instrument being played then replay ect-

    Thanks.

Very few, very limited. On Apple World, what you see is all there is. There is a simple 4 track recorder, but it has no options for sequencing or track editing. I've been looking for the same, anything similar to garage band, etc. This certainly is not hardware related, but developer interest for something like this takes a different "breed". If someone has or knows of something in the pipeline...

Where the PlayBook could and would benefit in this is that when a new app is released/launched, the ability to import / export tracks to DAW's as (wave/aiff, etc) would be a mobile audio production hit. I do lots of music production, and to be able to rough out mixes or, or, or, while away from the studio would be an incredible asset.

Going to the rehearsal space of a band, letting them rough track, part by part, and safeguarding that info can be invaluable later.

    Cheers, we are in waiting.

Check out, dingtictic in app world. cool metronome with free demo.

Caustic 2, a very cool pocket music app and it has a free trial.

MorphWiz is a very cool instrument.

So they are starting to show up.

I didn't know there were so many musicians that use tablets and phones to produce their work over real instruments. Where can I find all of this great work produced from tablets? Do these musicians go on tour? Do they actually play an instrument?

Just curious what people do with these things beyond play with it.

I dont think that they use phone/tablet instead of instruments, but to record or produce. It would certainly be cheaper than doing it all in a studio.

I too am holding on for more music creation apps. Love morphwiz and caustic is really cool, but no tablet will ever replace my guitars. My PB enhances my capability to teach music greatly and my students think it is way cool.

Oh yah! They have done wonderful things with Tablets! just check out on Youtube what Jordan Rudess do with MorphWiz! The same app we have available for PlayBook. And many more, even i use it for my music projects, we can make wonderful things.

Guitar Pro also has an app.

Kbz1960 - just being able to quickly record and mix or sequence ideas on the PB for use later would be very useful, not to mention just for the joy of creating music.

I would like a good multi-track recorder for PB that doesn't have issues recording (e.g. iSequence Nloop has these problems) and could handle VST plugs, along with the ability to record real musical instruments - something close to a stripped down DAW. Even Audacity for PB would be really cool! But I don't think that's going to happen, with Audacity anyway, because the authors said it would require a complete rewrite of the app.

A multi-track for the PB means I can go portable without having to lug a laptop along. But at this point anyway, I wouldn't consider anything I've seen for the PB more than a simple musical scratchpad, which is still useful, provided it works correctly.
