    going away for the weekend and wanted to take some films with me on my playbook. i heard that 2.0 will have mkv support, is this in the beta?

    Yes it is.

    EDIT: One VERY TINY caveat: the file has to be launched from within the "Video" application. If you download an MKV file and try to launch it from the browser, you'll get a "no default application" error. But if you open the "Video" app and look in "Downloaded Videos" you can launch just fine.

    It is, but there are some catches. See my explanation at http://forums.crackberry.com/blackbe...2/#post7012242 . The short version is, not every MKV will play.

    You would be better off converting the videos ahead of time with freemake so you know they will work
