    Hey all,

Is there an app out there to use the Playbook as a midi controller?

I'm seriously in need of one for the playbook.

Theres a lot of apps for the ipad, and a couple for the androids.

I'm looking for something exactly like this: http://iosmidi.com/apps/midi-touch/

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks

I suspect that's not possible quite yet as developers have no USB APIs that would let them (us) provide the required interface.

We should be learning more about this at the BB10 Jam, but I don't expect to see support available until months from now, perhaps not until BB10 is launched.

The only app I am aware of is OSCream, which uses the OSC midi-over-wifi protocol to send midi messages to a laptop, which can then process them or send them over a hardware MIDI interface.

Well since theres no USB Host available. That i understand it would not be possible through usb, but through Wifi or bluetooth, i'm sure we could get something going

I am working on an rtpMIDI application that will allow custom touchscreen layouts similarly to touchOSC for iOS. No timeline for release yet but hopefully summer 2012

Please, allow the usb port to do something other than transfer files or charge the device. I would buy three more of these if you could use the usb port for midi clock/sync or for audio.
Has anyone experimented with OSCream (sp?)? This is the first I've heard of it. Being able to sync devices' clock signature would be enough at this point for what I'm working on, but that still would have more latency than a cabled connection.
