Thanks for the update. Love the app, even with the bugs.
Great app.!
Hoping that you will be doing an update soon, or have you abandoned the app for other things?
I have not abandoned it, just having insanely crazy busy summer... I am about 50% into fixing the most critical UI issues (rewrote the UI with "sliding panels" which no longer consume memory and crash) as well as working on text entry improvements.
The problem is finding time hence delay. I have not been able to spend any time on it in a month and now fighting pneumonia which just doesn't help.
Hopefully will have some time soon and get the update out of the door and focus on new features I have planned.

Just an update I have made some good progress on LinkNote version 1.0.7 and should be ready to submit to AppWorld by the weekend.
The next couple of releases will focus on resolving some of the key bugs which are preventing regular use of the application, specifically:
- 1.0.7 will address the main issues with the UI where switching between linked items slows down the application and it becomes unusable. I have pretty much re-written the entire under the hood UI logic and made the screens "slidable" where you slide the panels to reveal linked items rather than tap on the tabs.
-1.0.8 will focus on resolving issues with the text entry as well as the bug where carriage returns are lost when re-saving an item.
After that I will start adding new features, both ones I have planned and the ones requested by numerous emails and feedbacks. Thanks for your patence and putting up with the bugs.
Also starting with 1.0.7 the app will become paid app, but upgrades will be free as long as you install the application before the price change - as a thank you for being a "beta" tester ;-)
Cheers

The updates sound great, can't wait to see them. There have been severeal new note apps since you have been gone (hopeyou are feeling better). I might suggest you add something like sync'ing to Dropbox or better yet Box in order to differentiate yourself from the competition.
Have you submitted the updates to BB yet?
Version 1.0.7 has been just uploaded to App World for review.
Unfortunately AppWorld does not allow me to charge for application and keep upgrades for free for people who installed while the app was free so I will keep it as a free for a day so everyone who uses it here can upgrade and then will make it a paid app.
Here are release notes.
Version 1.0.7
New functionality added in this release
- None (this is a bug-fix release)
Fixed or changed in this release
- Tabs with linked items can now be dragged. Slide linked tab about 1/4 to the left to "dock" it revealing linked items. Slide it further left (about half way in the centre of the screen) to switch to the linked item.
- Navigating between items no longer causes memory leaks and should perform better than in previous versions.
- Corrected the date format in the note edit screen to Month, Day, Year, Hour, Minute.
- When deleting an item a prompt asking to confirm the delete is now displayed.
- Number of other performance improvements.
It appears 1.0.7 has been approved (pretty quick) and should hit your PlayBook anytime from now on.

Really interested in the feedback on the UI changes.
Super slick. Love the speed of switching, reminds me of cycling through apps that are running. Makes the UI much nice.
Good to hear this. I've found couple of bugs with the new UI (if you have a note with a long text you are not able to scroll up and down) and are working on a quick fix.
I will try to keep updates more frequent from now on.
Version 1.0.8 has been submitted to AppWorld for approval. Here are release notes:
New functionality added in this release
- None (this is a bug-fix release)
Fixed or changed in this release
- Fixed bug where application menu buttons would not correspond to the screen currently displayed
- Linked items tabs are now properly highlighted when switching between the tabs
- Number of linked items is now updated after linking or unlinking of an item
- After item is linked the selected tab no longer resets to the top tab
- Fixed bug preventing scrolling of note details when it is longer than height of the screen
---
ENJOY and please keep the feedback coming - also if you like the application PLEASE PLEASE leave corresponding feedback in App World - can't stress how important it is (to keep me motivated) ;-)
Next I am on to rework the note, project and contact editing interface. I have some great ideas, lets hope they come out good. Also portrait mode is coming some time soon.
Version 1.0.8 has been approved and should start appearing in App World today.
Well - i am a little disappointed in 1.0.8 I had hoped that the wordwrap issue was fixed, but after having upgraded and paid for the app, I discover that Returns at the end of lines get sttipped out, and the lines wrap together. Not what i want at all to happen. At least two upgrades now since I first noted this very frustrating bug and no fix. Until this issue is fixed I have another App I can't really use as intended.
Really sorry this is going to be fixed in the release I am currently working on.
Its a priority but due to nature of the bug (it is not reproducable on every device making it hatrd to debug) it didn't make the cut. The issues addressed in 1.0.7 and 1.0.8 were reproducable and applied to all installs.
Stay tuned... And thanks for honest feedback and patience (working on this in spare time but I remain committed to this app and making it the best structured note organizing application on playbook).
Cheers

Found the root cause of the bug where carriage return was lost when re-saving an existing note and did quick release (1.0.9) which will cost $4.99 to upgrade to for existing users who paid $1.99 ...... (just kidding) ;-)
Anyhow - it is now in App World waiting for approval.
There are few more bugs reported to me and I am working on them but those will be fixed in next release.
Just a FYI -- I think the App World upgrade bug (charging for an upgrade that the developer says should be free) is affecting LinkNote.
@lotuslanderz - Yes, it appears there is currently no way to make an app paid without forcing all the users who already downloaded while the app was free to pay when they download new update. I should have checked that before I made my original statement, but I was almost certain it was possible. :(
BTW version 1.0.9 is already approved. Version 1.1 I am currently working on will feature improved note editing interface incorporating all the feedback received todate (making it easier to enter note without worrying about title, date and other attributes).

Version 1.1.009 will be submitted to AppWorld later tonight. I am pretty excited about this release as it makes note entry and editing easier as well as fixes number of bugs that have been haunting me in between the last few releases. I have been using this release for the past few days in every day note taking tasks and it is a big improvement over previous version. I still have a lot of things I need to improve / add but now I feel I am getting somewhere with this thing... Hopefully now the flood of bad reviews my application has been getting recently will be tamed... Anyhow...
Here are release notes:
New and changed functionality
- Added "Project Code" and "Project Status" fields to Project edit screen
- Redesigned and improved editing interface for Notes, Projects and contacts
- New note can now be saved without entering title and other attributes
- Displaying edit window immediately after new linked item is created
- When installing LinkNote first time sample entries are no longer loaded
Bug fixes
- Fixed bug where screen goes blank trying to display list with no entries
- Unable to edit note contents for notes added from linked item
- In certain situations edits to note in the middle of list were saved to the top-most note
- Edits to contact save into wrong contact
- Number of other minor bug fixes and performance improvements
Version 1.1.109 has been approved and is now in AppWorld as a free upgrade.
I am eager to hear feedback on the improvements.

Happy to report than LinkNote 1.1.109 work perfectly fine on PlayBook OS 2.0 (developer preview released today)!
I take my last post back. It appears the edit screen is impacted in OS2 where smaller keyboard size leaves some extra space below the text edit box. I will have it corrected in next version for OS 2.0+ only.
I have a suggestion for the Linknote application. Can you make the application recognize URL's in the notes, so that when ”clicked" on the browser opens with the link?
Also I would like to be able to select text in a note to copy without having to open the note to edit it. Would that be possible? This would also help prevent me from accidental changes to the note when all I want to do is copy something from the note, or to launch a web site from a note.
Thanks.
Thanks for your suggestions - great ideas. Enhancements to the text editing interface (bold, italics, bullets and URLs) are features which are in the plan for one of the upcoming releases. I will bump them up in priority list based on your feedback.
I like the idea of selecting text without need to edit it first. I experimented with this a bit and the problem is the moment you make text selectable it pops up the keyboard which shifts the entire screen up and makes it bit messy. I am going to take another look as there must be a way to do that.
Currently I am working on 1.2.x release which will feature couple other frequently requested features (its a surprise) and afterwards will focus on text improvements so stay tuned and please do keep the feedback coming. Your feedback helps me to prioritze things according to the popularity of requests.
Linknote - no problem. I see that the web browser will allow me to select text from a non editable area of the screen, so indeed I believe that you should be able to replicate this at some point.
As for launching hyperlinks, that might be a nice way for Playbook users to utilize Linknote to organize and manage their Web site favorites.
Thanks.
Just wanted to update here that I'm still working on new release - bit slower than anticipated but will post here as soon as it's ready to be submitted to AppWorld. Stay tuned.
