I'm a proud and new playbook owner. Excellent tablet with incredible multitasking capabilities that simply make you more productive.
I am looking for a kindle workaround and an audible app workaround...anything would be greatly appreciated.

No kindle app as yet (or possibly ever) but you can use the kindle cloud reader webapp at read.amazon.com. May be when the android player is released a app will be available. N too sure about an audible work around.

Kindle App is available if you have the OS 2.0 developers beta, not sure about audible as I don't use it. the OS 2.0 app works great though. I have no problems with it.

Hello, and thank you for the upload! I load the app just fine, but when it comes time to type in my email and password, no keyboard shows up? I have clicked in the text box, tried all the menu options, but nothing works? Also, the cloud reader web page loads and shows me my books, but there is always an error loading them. Amazon really doesn't want us to use kindle on the playbook? Does anyone have a fix for these?

A question about Kindle on playbook. Will it allow you to view any kindle magazine subscriptions that you have? I wondered if there might be a problem with the playbook on this as I read somewhere that android apps with billing will not work on the playbook and obviously you pay subscriptions for amazon newspapers and magazines. Thanks in advance

Amazon did state that they would support the Playbook i believe although im not 100% positive on this. however there is a few apps in the App World that allow you to upload kindle books one that seems to have gotten 4.5stars is called "Book Ready for EPUB and Kindle Books"

Side load the Kindle for Android. It's simple to do and works like a charm. Did it this morning on the new OS 2.0 using the instructions found on this Forum.

Amazon uses .mobi books, not epub books. The kindle app will not read epub books.

I've side loaded Kindle and everything works fine with the exception of the in-app brightness slider. Doesn't seem to do anything. Anyone else seeing this? Thanks!

The brightness adjuster is the only feature that doesn't work for me as well. Luckily it doesn't bother me because I usually use the yellow (sepia) background for reading.

I have Kindle installed ... Seems to work ok; but doesn't sync across multiple devices.

Have others experienced this. I'm using Amazon-Kindle-3.2.0.35.bar

My kindle app syncs across all of my kindle devices (including iPad), and no, I do not have to relogin to kindle after a hard reset of the PlayBook. 3.2.0.35.bar file loaded.

Using Kindle app on playbook and works perfectly. Only thing I don't like compared to the kobo app is I never know what page I'm on. Also the percentage complete when reading a book doesn't seem to work.

I had this problem and solved it - see these links.....

The bottom line is that you must reset your Playbook and reinstall OS2.......
You will also want to clean out your Kindle Account to remove the multiple Android devices that will have been registered.

The Cloud Reader no longer works on the Playbook. I called Amazon support and was told the only browsers supported are Chrome, FireFox and Safari. The support specialist I spoke with knew of no plans for Playbook support.

Amazing how an article appears on ZDNet talking about how the Playbook makes a better Kindle reader than the Kindle Fire and a few days later a Cloud Reader "update" makes it unusable on the Playbook.
