Still offering 50GB as of my upgrade today. The app doesn't do much but the box.net site in the browser is very nice. Playing music files with the simple folders system seems better than amazon web player!

Thanks, signed up tonight at 11:50 PM EST on the playbook.

As soon as I signed up, I got a prompt with the message that my 5 GB has been upgraded to 50 GB.

I hope this is not a bad omen for PB. The HP Touchpad had the same 50gig offer from box.net just before it was pulled off the market

this might be a really newb question but does this mean that i can store all the powerpoints for my classes on box.net andwhen i get to college, i can open them up through the app?meanwhile not affecting the storge space on my playbook? and when i open these files will they dl onto my playbook? asking this because i dont want to waste too much space on my blackberry with powerpoints and other documents.

The data can not be larger than 2 gb each. You get 50 gb but the individual items can not go beyond 2 gb each. So it would depend on the size of each powerpoint.

Just to add to Rcab's post. If using web browser, on computer or PlayBook, you can view the stored files inside the browser. My understanding is that viewing the files do not counts as (download/upload) traffic, which is limited to 10G.

Glad I found this thread. I just downloaded the Box app on my wife's PlayBook and my iPad. Created an account on the PB and got the 50gb. Logged into to said acct on my iPad and voila, there it all was.

Logged out of the acct on the PB and created a new one for her. We now both have 50gb Box accts on our respective tablets!!

K, I tried uploading a movie that was less than 1GB in size but I got denied and I was prompted to upgrade ($15/month) to enable larger upload files. I went to Box.net's FAQ and it says you're limited to 25mb per file. Is this true? Has anyone tried uploading a movie yet?

Yes, there are limitations on file size with free version. It doesn't matter what file you upload as long it is 25MB or less.
