Just wondering if anybody has the native IM+ for PlayBook app. I know there's been a lot of talk and usage of the android app and I've been using it as well. I really like the app and would be happy to buy it if the native app is at least as good as the android port. How does the native app handle notifications? (are they pushed/shown as alerts, etc.)

Anyone have it and like it? Has somebody used both the native app and the android port? Would definitely be curious of their opinion of how they stack up.

It's disappointing, very slow and there is no way to have it run in the background

Hopefully an update will come with OS2

See post #10 for my thoughts. As pgerhard mentioned, the native IM+ does not run (a service) in the background. You close it, it's gone.

Note, however, that it's not IM+'s fault. No third-party developer app can run (a service) in the background on the Playbook.

Oh and, unlike pgerhard's experience, mine has been OK so far. It works pretty well. Sometimes, it takes long to connect Skype, but once all accounts are connected, it's pretty snappy.
