I noticed the following detail on my google newsfeed/twitter but can't confirm since I'm at work.

implus: IM+ for BlackBerry Playbook submitted to AppWorld for approval!

    Twitter - ‎ 1 hour ago ‎

My perfect world Playbook communication system has IM+, Skype/Gtalk Video and maybe Facebook Chat.
Once the PlayBook NDK is out, I hope we will get system notifications.

Five is overly optimistic and a week is just dreaming. Isn't this app going to be competing with one of RIMs missing links?

Just a little more Blackberry Jam?

Quite excited by this news!! Hoping someone on the dev team will jump in here and give us some screenshot goodness to drool over while we wait for RIM to get their act together on approving apps quicker!!

I don't care what RIM's approval process is, this app should have priority. Outside of the browser the playbook has no IM capability whatsoever at the moment.

Hopefully they price IM+ competitively otherwise I probably won't care. A lot of their products are way too expensive compared to alternatives like Trillian, meebo, etc.

Seems like it was announced April 19 with a May Launch date. Right on time, tentatively priced at $19.95? That's a little intense.

    At $19.95 no chance.

If it works better then the current FB app maybe $4.99 but not $19.95, but then who knows...

It does look good, but that's a stiff price. The Blackberry handheld version is expensive also, so maybe they will try and push the envelope on price. Strike while the iron is hot? RIM's deliberate pacing will work to the developers' advantage?

IM+ has always been expensive... Not really a surprise.

I would wait for Trillian to release.

No way I'm paying $19.99 for an IM app. For that money they can stick it where the sun don't shine.
