I've ported HuGo the classic PC-Engine/TurboGrafix16 emulator

    Download: v1.0.0.1

    - Creates directories ...

    misc/hugo/
    roms/pce

Get hold of a PC-Engine/TG-16 ROM and rename it game.zip
Put this game.zip in the playbook mounted drive:/misc/roms/pce directory

    ( use .zip directly don't unpack! )
    I recommend R-Type 1,2, Salamander, Gradius , SuperStarSoldier, Galaga 88
Google for roms, no bios required.

    - misc/hugo/tco.xml control override like FCEUX
    - misc/hugo/hugo.ini configuration for HuGo
    - bluetooth keyboards will give you access to a bunch of features but I've not tested this yet.

edit: installed, added roms, app crashed when opening.
doing a pb restart then see again
    post soon
If it exits immediately its not finding the .zip rom files. Double check the mounted drive misc/roms/pce directory exits and create it if it doesn't. Then put your pc engine .zip file in that directory but rename it game.zip

I just try it,it works well on my playbook with os 2.0.0.7111.
The emu speed is very perfect, but i think 1024*600 is too large
for a PCE game, will you make a config run it with it's original resolution?
Very thanks for you hard work!

Yes it does look jagged at that size, there is a hugo.ini file in misc/hugo/ directory that you can set resolution and some other options but so far I couldn't find anything that did much. It does have an eagle filter but so far I can't get it active ( didn't try much ) it needs some 'rounding' at that resolution something I'll work on.

    update for anyone interested...

I've got rom cycling working except the emu core triggers a memory fault due to some malloc, free naughtiness ( the emulator doesn't really like being reloaded without a complete shutdown ) so it dies after the 3rd cycle. I've also switched back from 8bit mode to 32bit mode and it looks a little better in my opinion. When the rom cycler is fixed I'll spin another .bar file

Thanks for creating this emulator. So far, it's running great on the 2.0.0.7111 firmware.

    I have two questions:
    1. Do you know if there's a way to make the emulator load the roms without having to rename them as game.zip?
    2. When I look into the hugo.ini, it's blank. Do you know what the INI file is supposed to look like when it gets created by the emulator?

It's been awhile since this emulator has been updated, but hopefully the following features will appear in future updates.

    Feature: Rom selector
Description: I remembered that you had to create a game.zip file containing all the roms in order for it to cycle correctly. It would be great to see a rom selector.

    Feature: Super CD-ROM support
Description: I'm not sure if this emulator has Super CD-ROM support, but if it doesn't, it would be great to have this feature.

hello guys and whoa! this thread seems like a cave from Indiana Jones, anyway, I just hope my question be answered...

I ain't sure if the emulator runs the games for PC Engine CD - Turbo Duo - TurboGrafx CD, but... it does?
