Ive looked around but cant find any proper guides, they all differ.
I dont want to convert any apps just yet, i might later on though, but for now i just want the easiest, quickest method to get the most ammount of android apps available to choose from to go on my playbook.
I have already updated it to the latest firmware.
    Any help?

    Yes that will do fine..
The guides here also do the same just with other tools:
    http://forums.crackberry.com/android...eloading-f258/
You will find a few lists of pre converted .bar files there too..

There's a guide somewhere bout DDPB too in our forums (The one you linked too)

    Have fun..

There is a plugin for the web browser Chrome (Desktop) which allows you to easily sideload bar files onto your Playbook. Just search for playbook in Chrome's extensions.

No. Not directly. To update you'd need to find an updated bar and then load it. If an android app tells you an update is available, clicking "Update" won't work.

Even if an app, or game, converts and installs there is no guarantee that it'll run. Its the same for any android device and its native apps as well.
