Hey Guys!

As you know, we have been supporting the playbook since the thing got the Android emulator. We created the first APK TO BAR convertor and now we have a new tool.

Introducing the Google Play APK Download Tool!

You can easily download an app from the US or Japanese version of the play store to your PC and then use our APK TO BAR converter to test it on the Playbook!

We created this tool so people can be empowered to download and test their own apps, without needing someone else to convert or download it for them.

I'm at work, so can't test the version downloaded, but pretty neat tool. There have been plugins for chrome to d/l apk files from google play, but some appear to no longer work. What would be killer is if the tool would automatically get the apk, convert it and then d/l the bar file directly. Just takes an extra step out of the equation...but still a great way to get the latest apk from google play.

Would you be willing to make a download tool to get the few apps from the Parrot Asteroid Market? They are on Gingerbread, like us, but have Spotify in there!

its doubtful, it costs a lot of money to get tools like this going. TO give you a sense, it cost me 5,000 just to get the google play tool done, and I think i've got 15.00 in donations so far from it. Hard to spend tons of my own $$ on these tools when no one donates.

That's fair enough mate!

If I do buy one of these devices I'll see if I can sideload the apk file. Their store is quite small so it might only be good for Spotify, Deezer and Tom Tom.
