Does anyone know of a good app to connect to irc for the playbook? One of the requirements is easy switching between multiple servers. Doesn't matter if I have to convert an Android app (as I have a purchased version of AndroidIRC).

I'm using Play IRC to follow some chat rooms on freenode. Seems to work well.
Not sure how easy it is to switch between servers though. I'm not a heavy chatroomer, so I'm just using freenode right now.
What happens to your connection in Play IRC when the PlayBook screen times out? What happens when you switch apps? Do the connections stay up in the background or do you need to be in Showcase mode?
It appears there are several layers of sleep the Playbook enters into. If the screen times out and you get back to it within a few minutes, it looks like the irc client stays up.
But if you're gone for awhile and the Playbook starts shutting down wifi and stuff, then the irc service itself gives you the boot after about 4 minutes of trying to ping your device.
When using other apps it seems to stay up in true multi-tasking fashion. I do not have Showcase mode turned on.
Unfortunately neither Firc nor PlayIRC bother to request the NETWORKING resource from QNX, so they will basically lose the connection after a time when the PlayBook goes to sleep.
For now, I'm not sure there's any very usable solution for IRC on the PlayBook.
