Which is better? GetWebReader is a paid app and I can't try it.
I can give a thumbs up to GeeReeder, really like it and use it a lot. I find it is stingy on bandwidth so it can be used even over bridge connection. Have not tried the other one.
I've used both and I'd say it depends on your needs. Do you usually have at least Bridge connectivity when reading? If yes, GeeReader is a great free app for this. WebReader, while not free, offers some superb features when connected as well.
If however you need offline caching, GeeReader (at least at present) is a non-starter. WebReader does provide offline caching, though as I've recounted a few times, its not as efficient as it needs to be offline. In speaking with the developer about my concerns, he noted that the next update (~3 weeks time) will focus almost exclusively on improving the offline caching functionality.
In the meantime, I've been using the Android RssDemon - its not flashy but has all your basic functionality (+ rock solid, and quick, offline caching). Once WebReader sorts out the offline caching, I'll be happily reverting to it as my daily reader.
Good luck!
GeeReader was one of the first apps I purchased for my PB last year. I've since switched to WebReader. I like the presentation of WebReader more than I do GeeReader, plus WebReader made it easier to connect to my Google account with 2-step authentication.
Likewise! The UI in WebReader just blows GeeReader away. GR I bought on recommendation but always found it so basic for a paid app. WR on the other hand is in a league of it's own at the moment. Smooth and easy setup plus amazing rendering and magnifying of pages. Can't Live without it at the moment lol..the only downside is the price, but I would prefer to have quality apps at a price, than lots of crappy apps (as I seen in appworld just lately) sigh
WebReader is the best. GeeReader is the best free option though.
I have used Geereader, love its offline support.
Hands down web reader! I'm always using it, has great UI and it's fluid.
How about Pulse? You can get it here: Blackberry Playbook Android Apps | Good e-Reader Android App Store - Playbook App Store - We support Kobo Vox, Kindle Fire, Blackberry Playbook and More
I prefer actual PB apps and not the side loaded ones as they take longer to load and lag, I had downloaded both Pulse and Taptu, but since having Webreader deleted all the other apps, WR suits all my needs, and love the offline reading :D
I have only used GeeReader (free version) so far [I haven't purchased any apps yet at all], I had not heard of GetWebReader, I will have to look into this app...
EDIT: Although I quite like the UI of GeeReader and find it a pretty decent app all round.
EDIT: Had a look at WebReader, it doesn't actually look that nice IMO, I prefer GeeReader. Also, it costs 5, whereas GeeReader has a free version and the full version is only 2...
