    Hi folks:

Does anyone know of a free comic book reader app for the Playbook -- one that would read .cbr, .cbz and a host of other formats - similar to the Android-based Perfect Viewer app?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Many thanks.

"JJComics Viewer" reads cbr and cbz and is free.

Sideloaded BAR you can get at Goodereader.com

Welcome to the Playbook and the forums. PM me and I can start you off. Or there is a sub forum for sideloading for all info.

ComicRack for Android works perfectly and IMO is better than any of the native apps and also the best of the Android ones. The free version has ads but they are only limited to a small banner in the library browser and will in no way affect your reading experience or enjoyment.

I know you asked for a free one, but Comics from App World is $2.99 and does everything you asked. It saves the page you were on for multiple comics, displays them on a shelf, shows which ones have been read and is easy to use. One of the reasons I purchased my Playbook was to have comics on the go and after a few hours of looking through free comic apps I ended up just buying that one.

How is the PB for comic reading? Isn't the screen small for the whole page to fit?

I'm asking as I am thinking of PB VS IPAD for Comic reading and word document typing.

    Thanks
