File Browser app - connect to BB smartphone?
Any idea, how to find my files, which are stored in my BB smartphone, using this app I bought? I read in the description in app, that for this feature, I must connect PB and BB by Bridge and then open some Bridge app. So I did it, I opened Brdige messages, also contacts and calendar. After this I tried to find my phone files in the list of all folders in File Browser app, but without any chance. I tried to send email to developer support, but never got the answer :(
Can anyone help maybe? By positive reaction in the comments for the app in Appworld, I think I am the only one who cannot use the ability of working with bridged fils, which makes me quite sad
Re: File Browser app - connect to BB smartphone?
I do this with files and folders. Don't know much about file browser.

What you can try, is go to the main screen and click on the bridge icon and select unlock.

Keep in mind that if your BB phone is provisioned through a BES, you wont be able to see bridge files on the phone.

Re: File Browser app - connect to BB smartphone?
You have to first launch something bridged and then the file browser app. For example launch bridge messages and then launch file browser and you will be able to locate your phones files. If a bridge app isn't launched first, no bridge files will show up in the app.
I've been using this app for a year with no problems.

From File Browser screen just below icon menu bar where the current folders are shown (/ accounts 1000 shared) press the / item.
Next scroll down folder list to BlackBerry folder and select it. Then select SD Card or InternalDeviceMemory folder.
You should now see the folders on your phone provided that you are not using BES and have Bridge properly installed and unlocked.

OMG why nobody told me that before? :( Yes I am using BES.
But for example in built-in file manager in PB, I can see and open files stored in my smartphone thanks to bridge, but unfortunately the possibilities are very limited, thats why I bought File Browser app to be able for example to easily transfer photo taken by phone to my PB etc.
Re: File Browser app - connect to BB smartphone?
Yeah, it won't work with BES or enterprise users for security reasons.

OK guys :(
thanx a lot for help
Re: File Browser app - connect to BB smartphone?
Well atleast you have a cheap, very good file browser for your PlayBook.
Re: File Browser app - connect to BB smartphone?
There are work arounds for the BES bridge file transfer problem. I use FileScout on my BB phone to zip files I want to send from my phone to by PB. I then use the WiFi Sharing plugin within FileScout, to establish a web server from which I can pull files from the phone to the PB using the PB's default browser. Ghost Commander or Files and Folders on the BP allows manipulation of the files once on the PB. It a bit convoluted and can take a while, but it works. It does require the phone and PB to be on the same WiFi network. It won't work if you attempt to establish the WiFi network through the phone's hotspot feature.

Well thank you very much for help. But I really dont want to make all these crazy steps just to do a basic thing - transfer picture from phone to PB.
