Before I go and pay for the android version of Live Timing for F1 2012...has anyone tried to download and use it on the PlayBook? I know that a Blackberry app is coming soon but hope to use the android app on PlayBook since the developer has said no PlayBook app is being developed.

Doubt it given it is a paid app.
F1 2012 now in app store.
    5 reviews.

Still thinking whether I pay for my 9700 - just don't know how long I'll keep it.

If we do a Playbook version it will have to be a native app as playbook doesn't support JNI Android apps (our app is one of these on Android).
    So it wont work

I have it on my 9930 and its pretty great. Not as good as the Android/iOS one but getting close. Each update makes it better. I think the And/iOS version is a little more intuitive and better on the graphics, but the BB app still works fairly well and has the same information.

I hope they develop a PlayBook version as I'm sure it'll match the big guys and set us off nicely for the 2013 season on the BB10 smartphone coming later this year.

As I said in another thread, if there's any NDK PlayBook developer and F1 lover in the community, maybe this will help to get a native live timing app (https://launchpad.net/live-f1)
