Osmand
Hey now that I see your app list I have a question on your app called Start in Style, can you make a trail version so we the users can see how it is and can you (from the reviews I read that you can't add your own icons and does it have the feature to change background image ) add these features to your app so I can maybe so pay for it?
Can't provide you with answer to your question but I would like to pass on some comments on your apps, specifically Money Plus. Download and started using it about a month ago and I love it. Very smooth and easy to use great features already but would love to see the ability to total expenses by category and monthly. Also would like to be able to chart numbers by month.
Based on previous experience with Money Plus, I also purchased Start in style, less impressed with that but I see potential in some further development. Functions well but I'm sure you're looking to make it better.
Nicely done and thanks for supporting PlayBook. Keep the apps coming, because I'm sure there's more of us out there looking to spend money on good apps...
the locus pro app makes it very easy to grab portions of a map for offline use. It has a section where you can choose from which zoom range you want to grab the map (street level, with lots of detail. Or a wider view with fewer details but much more area), and an easy to use selection option to pick an are you want to download. It's simpler than I said :P
Cool thanks. Google Maps keeps crashing (on two different playbooks) as soon as i hit settings (needed to d/l maps) so i gave up but MapDroyd is pretty solid. I just wonder if GPS will work with my WiFi turned off while i'm on the road...
Hijacking my maps thread...? ;-) LOL
Regarding Start in Style - I will consider try and upgrade type of thing but there is a problem where you upgrade from trial to paid all app data gets lost so until RIM fixes it I will have to keep it as paid only.
This is my first version and I am planning to add custom icons and custom views but its coming slower than i originally planned due to time issues. I have received bunch of requests and will get them in, just cant say at the moment when, hopefully sooner than later.
Thanks for good feedback. Category totals and custom charts are top requested features and I will be working on them in upcoming release.. I am currently working on password protect and will release as soon as done.
I have few things planned for Start in Style and will keep updating it, right now its just time issue, i was quite ill total of few weeks over last longer while and was not able to spend much time on this.. I have time to work on this mostly on the the weekends hence so slow but i will get there ;-)
cheers
I will give it a shot. thanks
That's why I said Google Maps 5.9 or 6.0. Later versions will crash when trying to enter settings, but 5.9 and 6.0 won't.
Yes App World does have download able maps.

Osmand is the only one that just plane works without crashing or freezing and seems to be the best so far. The offline maps are full detail with POI and it's possible to do offline search's. Voice command routing works also and track logging. There seems to be an extensive list of downloadable maps with the first few being free. This is by far the best free app of it's kind and better then payed also. I've been waiting for the Magellan Compass update because it doesn't work offline. The only problem I've seen with Osmand is it won't stay on but does come back right away with a screen swipe.
