Double Dealing App Developers
If you had downloaded the original Advanced Camera app for the PlayBook and have been getting "free updates" then you know what I'm about to say.
When this app first appeared on App World it was free, and there was some indication that it would be free for a limited time so get it while you can.
Since the app has been updated anyone who originally downloaded it and has been faithfully updating will find that their once full functioning app has now become a 5 time limited use trial app with no explanation or pre-warning!
I'm sure some of you will come to this guy's defense, but please hear me out.
This is deceptive and nefarious at the very least. If you are going to change an app from free to paid for, yes please do but communicate it. As a gesture of good faith to your first loyal adopters and down-loaders include them into the full version instead of kicking them to the curb and then demanding that they pay or else!
This has been a common practice on app world where a developer sees that their app is getting high download counts and favorable reviews they get greedy and demand payment. What the ****?
Make multiple versions, even discontinue development and updates of the previous version but don't cut us off so that we can no longer use it.
I've read the reviews of this app and I'm not the only one complaining.
This practice needs to be nixed by RIM as it creates bad relationships between users and developers and continues to tarnish the reputation of the app store.

Wait so your complaining that you got something for free, never gave anything back, were given time to decide on the purchase during a trial changeover.... and you love the app so much you... Well refuse to pay what - 99cents? Glad I'm not part of your cheap family.
Do you want your money back? I will paypal you 0 dollars lol on behalf of the poor developer. You don't like your free app then delete it. The button is also avail on appworld.
Rich peoples kids from the Y generation, I tell you ;). You, as a BlackBerry user, actually makes the BB community a little bit worse by your involvement.
End Rant. Glad to know there is a good camera app out though. And although I joke a bit harsh - its good to see someone carrying an opinion, even if I disagree (its so much better for the world than people without one)

I agree with the OP. However how does the developer ensure everyone receives and or reads the notice of the change? Email? In app messages?

Even though I'm paying 1 for it, which is more than you guys, it's worth every penny. Stop complaining, the developer should be commended and I hope he makes a shed load of money.

I got an email from RIM today saying they are trying to rectify some of those currency descrepencies. So I think the British equiv is now .75.
