I believe i have a larger downgrade from .90 to .79, very confusing
    lol OH GOD.

Its funny because just the other day I was contemplating whether or not I should just kick the habit and stop tediously checking for correct version numbers before every update. I was about to, then this happened.... lol.

I'm sure its just an error..

Of course its just an error... a user error, 80 is higher than 9.

I don't know.. Still doesn't make sense. .90 to. 79? I just fail to see the logic.

    The version in the screen shot isn't .90 - it's .9

    79 is a higher number than 9, therefore it's a revision.

I think that it's very clumsy (dare I say lazy) version numbering that has brought this whole discussion about. Personally, I think that the previous release should have been .09 which would have saved this whole thread...

Look at the OS version on your PB, do you see 2.0.1.358 or do you see 002.000.001.358?

    I see the former.

I see this because 2.0.1 are major version numbers, and very unlikely to exceed the decimal tipping point (particular relevant as we are aware of how close 2.1 is to a beta release). 358 is a minor build number and will go much higher than the others.

Hope that this helps clarify my statement.

I wasn't referring to the screenshot, I was referring to another poster who claims his said .90 to .79

Either way, whatever the right way is to do things, the universal rule in mathematics assumes .9 = .9000000 infinite

In either case I dont see the logic for these numbers. Furthermore, I don't see the logic in not submitting the version number as .81

Maybe this is how version numbers works after all though, but Im not saying it makes any damn sense!

Jeezus, 3 pages of this?! How hard is it to understand this?? Version numbers has nothing to do with math! There is no math involved here. When was the last time math had more than one decimal point? There is no, version 1.0 plus 1.03 equals 2.03.

If they say it's a higher number it's a higher number! Why do folks assume there are added zeros?

Why are you getting so pissed off? The real statement here is that it actually took you/others 3 pages to clarify this?! I don't even care personally I already upgraded. This is a thread open to discussion.. and that's what we are doing.. discussing!
