I was reading though the other thread about what is the most wanted apps for the Playbook and thought that the Android Market Place was supposed to be coming to the Playbook. Has a date been confirmed? Or will this be some kind of announcement at the Blackberry World Mobile Conference?

The Android Market is not coming to the Playbook. What RIM will provide is a means for Android apps to run on the Playbook, but apparently these apps will be offered through BB App World.

"The application player for supported Android apps will be available this summer, followed soon after by the application player for supported BlackBerry JDE apps. Both will be available through the BlackBerry App World™ storefront."

the more i think about it the more i remember the xoom. I really hope this doesn't come to fruitition or its completely voluntary.
