I was wondering this too. Seems silly to require two steps to close an app.
You have to minimize it I think. It's not that hard, just two swipes. (Bottom to middle, then middle to top)
iPhone also need twice click on "Home" button to "switch" between apps. Blackberry is correct on this. You can either "close" or "switch" with same gesture.
Yea...one of those things I bet they add in to the top swipe down menu of all programs. There are things that needed to be added here and there for a better experience for sure but overall I am very please with it thus far.
You still would need to go to the menu and then select close app in the traditional set up. The way it is now, it's very simple to close an app, especially if it's frozen.
That would still be a 2 step process. I think the more options the better, but it's not a big deal as 2 gestures is the minimum to close an app no matter what, unless there was a "Close" gesture (which would be a bad idea).
You'll lose the bet, as the top-swipe ("context") menu is specific to each app. In fact, an app needn't even provide one. All content in those menus, and even the basic open/close behaviour, is provided by each developer, custom for the app.
Closing an app shouldn't be something you can do trivially, to avoid mistakes. I think it will probably stay much as it is now, other than possibly increasing the size of the X widget next to the minimized app's name.
I thought that one of the video demos showed how to do that. But I can't find it now.
