I was mildly taken aback to see Kate's Ordeal and Julia in Captivity show up in BB App World -New Arrivals. I am not offended but I don't think this does the PlayBooks 's tarnished reputation for apps any good. I can imagine some S.O.B from CNET using this to ridicule the app situation, which RIM is working so hard to address. I think they're shooting themselves in the foot by placing them in such a prominent place. I don't think these books should be banned from BB App World , just have there own sub-category in books.

I think of books , cartoon , movies etc as content. I think of apps as tools and other things that have a function. I really think in thier attempt to gain as much material as they possibly can, BB App World is looking like an ambiguous mess, the kind of place that gives the impression of being ridden with malware. iOS and Android actually are ! Unfourtunatey RIM excellent reputation for security is undermined by the appearance of BB APP World. I have yet to hear of any malware, privacy violations or security holes in QNX. Everyone else needs to be aware of this, especially the mindless victims of iOS and Andriod.

The companies converting or uploading books should upload a book store instead. This will allow them to market the books appropriately, instead of as apps.

I would rather see App World refuse these submissions for stand alone e-book/apps (I don't even know how to categorize them...LoL). Don't really care about the content (What type of book it is)

Well is it porn? If classified as porn it should not be in app store. While like most men I enjoy adult entertainment I don't believe it has a place in the app store.

I have no issues with adult material at all, but do feel that it should be in its own section. Likewise, as previous posters have said, apps that are books are books and should be in a section for books.

I find it strange how this adult content is freely available in the store and yet RIM will not allow Playboy access through the Zinio App.

I don't know the content of those books either but they probably would not be available from Zinio due to the restriction on "adult" content magazines. Odd and inconsistent censorship from Rim. (I did not see Irishstew's posting)

App Store could have these under some restricted section. Maybe under ebooks/restricted??

Sure sounds like porn to me...

Aside from the issue of RIM artificially inflating the app count by approving individual books as "apps", I dont think there should be a place for adult material in the appstore.

(Its just a magnet for moral and legal issues. What about Blackberries popularity in the middle east? I have a feeling bondage novels might not go over too well in Saudi Arabia)

I kinda like the way that Apple curates their app store. Because there is no pornography I have no problems with letting my kids browse for new apps unsupervised. I think a lot of people feel like this, and would prefer BB app market to be a place where they dont run the risk of having their kids introduced to bondage.

There is a place for pornography, and as far as I know there are plenty of places people can get it. An appstore doesnt need to be one of those places...

That makes sense. Have it in the ebook section, probably with a rating. Agreed!

Better not make a Bible available in Saudi Arabia, they are banned. Converting from Islam can get you killed there.
