Bluebox is a dropbox client, to sync files with your playbook and dropbox. It works quite well.
couldnt i just log into dropbox from my playbook ... why would i need to use bluwe box to do this?
It's just another app. For convenience.
Works great, been using it for a few months now.
I think the bigger question is, "Why do I need an App to do anything when I can just use the browser?" - But that's a discussion for another time.
BlueBox has some extra features like allowing you to zip the file on your Playbook, etc. It is also designed for fat fingers to mash the buttons of a touch screen, unlike the Dropbox website. Essentially, just more convenient.
Does dropbox require an upgrade if you want to download more than one file at a time like box.net? Kinda ticked about it having no trouble bulk uploading but downloading anything more than one file at a time will cost you $15 a month. For that price I may as well serve my own files...
might be a naive query, was wondering where should I be lookingfor the files that I download from Bluebox on the PB. When I try and download, or even download and launch the file seems to download as evident from the status bar.... but when I try to find it on the PB its no where. Thanks in advance.
Look in the Downloads folder or in the documents folder. You might want to initially check out the free Air Browser (appworld) to look around your folders on the pb. There are other NON-free file managers also that might interest you.
F2 thanks bud.
I had checked it earlier but couldn't find anything, until I realized that I had set the permissions to the app to 'denied :D
Thats it, now its all there.
Thanks again :)
ok.. this may be a dumb question but here goes..
I have a DropBox account and I have BlueBox installed on my PB. So using Air Browser or File Manager, how do I find the folders on my PB that BlueBox/DropBox syncs to..?
Through your file manager- look at the documents folder- when you click on it, a subfolder named "Bluebox" should appear.
Now if it dosent, like it happened for me- make sure you have the application permission set right. Click on the wheel icon on the top right on the PB home-screen, go to security settings- application permissions- click on the BlueBox app- and set permissions to access your files/pics/docs to allowed/prompt.
This should solve the problem in case the folder dosent show up :)
All the best !
already did that but seems like any files i copy to that sub folder in the documents folder doesn't show up in Blue Box.
