Any one know of any augmented reality apps for the playbook?

The playbook is the perfect form factor for small group presentations, going to have to use my laptop otherwise : /

No, but it's like a 100% chance that we'll get it in the near future. I think at least Wikitude will be one of the first to make it for the playbook - we need BBM

The pb is an excellent size for seeing the world through its screen.

Maybe the 3g+ playbook will have native BBM and Wikitude

That's a shame, I was hoping to use it with an AR player like Ar-media player.

Similar to this ARmedia Plugin 2.2 for Google SketchUp (Augmented Reality) - YouTube
(skip to 1 minute or so)

But have the playbook connected to a large monitor via hdmi. Was mainly to make use of the playbooks great camera.

The magnetometer only just became available for developers to use in their apps. RIM has been really slow off the mark with several highly desirable API's. So far there is one AR astronomy app that uses the compass to provide a straight-forward "point and view" capability. Sales took off when the app was updated in late January so consumers know a good thing when they see it.

On the horizon, I can see that there's a million opportunities for developers to exercise their imaginations. I think that when they finally discover some of PlayBook's advanced sensors, good things will begin to happen. I don't see much activity yet though.
