[APP REQUEST] app to put measures on a picture
- I am not sure if this kind of app would be easy to develop or not but me and my co-workers would definitely pay for an app that can help us on our job.
I have this app on my iphone: My Measures Pro | SIS software | The app factory but would love to be able to do the same on the playbook screen !
Thanks in advance09-20-11 09:50 AMLike 0 -
- This does look sweet. Its gotta be difficult to create, though. I use a similar desktop program at work, PlanSwift - Construction Takeoff and Estimating Software. The first step would be just to enable the measurements. All the other estimating calculations contained in PlanSwift are useful, but not as important.
One thing that baffles me looking at the My Measure Pro app: how in the world can a two-dimensional picture of angles be used to measure distances? I'd love to see this for the PB!09-20-11 03:52 PMLike 0 -

This is my primary request for the app
But now than I've seen Planswift, if the program could do that as well (calculate square meters on a plan), it would be awesome. I guess this is the part of the app really complicated.
I work in construction, I rehabilitate old buildings or houses, therefore 99% of the time people don't have the plans and I take all the measures on a piece of paper.
Therefore, best thing would be actually : being able to draw directly on the playbook a plan then put measures I've taken on it. No more paper = Awesome !09-21-11 01:56 AMLike 0 - Just wanted to let you know I didn't forget about this. I got really tied up and didn't have a lot of time to work on this however I am dedicating quite a bit of time to this now. Hopefully soon I will have something prototyped and somewhat working for testing in the next month. I will keep you all updated.Rob Robertson likes this.01-30-12 02:33 PMLike 1

I'll tell you what I use it for: In My business, I wrap vehicles and I often have to take a photo of a truck or a car and then send the measurements to our graphic designers to create a template or give me a quote. I need this tool and I use it on my iPhone though everything else runs off of my Blackberry and Playberry.
I paid $5.99 through iTunes for it.
Also, it would be good for contractors who are BIG Blackberry users.
put me on the list of people who would pay good money for it.03-08-12 05:31 PMLike 0 - Hi, any joy on this app? could be a real deal clincher to keep me bb. My measures on I phone is a must have for my trade but I much prefer a bb to I phone. Also, anyone managed yet to print direct form bb without being done via a router ? see my previous posts. - I build vegetated structures used in slope stability and erosion control. I would like a camera app for Playbook which will take a photo and measure elements in the photo such as slope angle, length, width, area, location, time. Is this similar to what you had in mind for your app?11-17-12 10:21 AMLike 0
- My Measures Bar file.
I have my measures Android running on my playbook - here is a link to the bar file if you want to side load it. It is an older version but it works fine. Get it now as I will not leave the link forever
