Kalemsoft and Splashtop were the go-to apps for that back in the day.
+1 to Kalemsoft. I use it to stream media from our home NAS. Great app. Agree the PB speakers are exceptional.

+2 for Kalemsoft -perhaps the best streaming app ever made for PlayBook and BB10 not to mention many other platforms.

And select the Blackberry Playbook option. It is well worth the $7.00. You then install the Kalemsoft Media Streamer application on your computer, configure sharing folders, and you're good to go.
