WOW!
I downloaded "Aircraft Shooter" from PB App World to my OS2 and it is an Android app.
It appears RIM is posting them in with all other PB apps on App World.

i saw some out there right after devcon also. I am not sure if they are separating them or not. I would hope they do even though you really wont know the difference sometimes even when running them
They don't show using 1.0 Are these android apps going to show in app world like the rest?
Maybe it has something to do with this:
Handster Android App Market to begin submitting Android apps to BlackBerry App World on behalf of developers! | CrackBerry.com
7000 apps coming...
They are showing up in PB apps just like other apps. Probably just in OS2 beta.
They aren't showing up in the "newest" section but they do if you search Handster
Wow! So if I install os2 dev beta I can simply download these android apps from app world??
Yes. You probably won't know they are android until you log off.
wow indeed, there are a few there too...
E2a: oh well, nothing I want to download. they should fit right in alongside the rest of the apps in appworld lol ;)
I'm running the beta. I downloaded the 3D Holophonics 1 app but when I launch it the Android player just sits at the Blackberry logo splash screen...it's been running for 30 minutes or so. Is there anything else I need to enable like dev mode in the beta?
You don't need to enable anything if you're running OS 2.0 beta. It should launch almost instantly. Try rebooting your PB.
This is a good sign, but we need *quality apps*, those listed in another thread here that people are looking for. Dumping some random garbage Android apps to App World isn't going to solve the App problem. I was hoping RIM would do a better job than this.
Anyway, one issue comes up immediately. In app purchase is still not available, as it launches Android Market, which is not supported.
I rebooted and now the BlackBerry splash screen no longer "flashes" across the BB logo...it just stays one solid color but still does not launch the app. I'm guessing this is one of those "do a security wipe" problems...crap.
I'm afraid that might be the case. There must be a way to get around this..
the two mentioned apps are working great for me. very cool.
Can you get more sounds from Holophonics?
Great to see these apps coming through :)
